Dr Sharad Haridas
Dr Sharad Haridas is a Consultant addiction therapist and General adult psychiatrist for the NHS. Working with UKAT since April 2021, Dr Sharad has been employed as a psychiatrist at Liberty House since 2010. Here, he devotes his time to assess clients when they arrive at the clinic and help them work a detox plan to support them through recovery.
Sharad is a valued UKAT team member, both as a psychiatrist and a reviewer; he shares his in-depth medical knowledge to help us create accurate, helpful and up-to-date information for our web-pages. Dr Sharad applies his expert mental health experience to assist clients in overcoming their dependencies and leading healthier lives. He believes that Liberty House’s success comes from its dedication to clients, approaching them with care and compassion as they work through the rehab process. For Sharad, empathy is the key to successful rehabilitation; he believes the relationship between clients and staff will ultimately determine the outcome.

Eager to diversify his knowledge, Dr Sharad takes opportunities to expand his understanding of mental health across all areas. With experience working as an honorary clinical lecturer at Imperial College London, Sharad has completed a psychedelics research paper which he believes holds great promise for psychiatric disorders. He is also a mental health co-lead and harm reduction lead for Glastonbury.
