Facilities at Banbury Lodge

Where you spend time in treatment plays a significant role in your recovery. It is not only about the programme itself, but also the environment in which it is delivered. The surroundings influence how safe you feel, how well you rest, and how effectively you can focus on the work of change.

At Banbury Lodge, we have put real thought into creating a space that feels calm, private, and genuinely comfortable, because we know that healing is harder when your surroundings are not on your side.

Set in the Oxfordshire countryside, close to Banbury and within easy reach of Oxford and London, the clinic is separated from the pressures of everyday life while remaining accessible for families.

The grounds are quiet, green, and naturally restorative, offering space to step away from everyday pressures. The building itself is well maintained and intentionally homely, creating a sense of comfort rather than clinical distance. It is a setting designed to help you slow down, regain perspective, and focus fully on what matters most: recovery.

Bedrooms and private accommodation

Banbury Lodge offers 22 private en-suite bedrooms, each furnished and decorated to a high standard with comfort and recovery in mind. Every resident has their own room, ensuring privacy and personal space throughout their stay.
Sleep is treated as a clinical priority, particularly in the early stages of recovery when the body and mind are adjusting. Rooms are quiet, individually heated, and designed to support deep, restorative rest, helping you feel steady enough to engage fully with the therapeutic work each day.

Therapy spaces

We have dedicated rooms for individual therapy sessions, group work, and clinical consultations. These spaces are private, comfortable, and away from communal areas. They are designed to feel safe for difficult conversations, which is exactly what needs to happen in a therapeutic setting.

Group sessions are a core part of the programme at Banbury Lodge, and the space reflects that, as group therapy takes place in a separate, appropriately sized room with enough space for the group to work together comfortably.

Communal areas

Recovery is not only what happens in a therapy session, the time in between matters too. Banbury Lodge has communal areas where residents can sit together, talk, read, and decompress. For many people, the informal connections made with other residents during these quieter moments become an important part of their recovery.

The communal spaces are relaxed and well-lit, with no clinical feel to them. They are there for people to feel at home.

On-site gym

Physical health and mental health are closely connected, particularly in recovery. Exercise has a well-documented role in managing mood, reducing anxiety, and improving sleep, all of which are relevant during treatment. Our on-site gym gives residents access to physical activity as part of their daily routine, supported by the clinical team.

Food and nutrition

Meals at Banbury Lodge are prepared by our in-house chef, with residents being fed regularly, properly, and with care. For those receiving eating disorder treatment alongside addiction support, meals are designed with specific clinical and nutritional guidance from the team.

Good nutrition supports energy levels, mood, and the capacity to engage with treatment. We take it seriously because we know how important a good meal can and should be.
